About The Book
The subject Pathophysiology has emerged resulting due to amalgamation of two well-developed subjects, pathology with physiology. The scientists felt the need of this subject for understanding the processes or the mechanisms responsible for the development of any disease. Pharmacy Council of India introduced this subject in the course of B.Pharmacy (IInd Semester) and Pharm.D (IInd year). The present book conforms their syllabi. This book will also be useful to M.Pharmacy, Pharmacology (Ist and IInd semester) students.
The book is divided into 7 units and the last unit is exclusively written for Pharm.D students. Earlier units are common for the students of B.Pharmacy and Pharm.D. A few of chapters such as Thromboembolism and WBC disorders, which are not the part of any present syllabi, but important for understanding pharmacology in the subsequent semesters, are added in this book. An extra effort has been made to explain the processes/mechanisms involved in the disease development in the form of flow charts and figures. Tables have been included at the appropriate places to distinguish the closely-related diseases or concepts. The highlight of the book is the incorporation of the 'Key Points', Glossary and Revision Questions at the end of each chapter.
